Yim Wai-wai
Born in Hong Kong. Graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1982. Obtained a Higher Certificate in Studio Ceramics from the former Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1991.

From 1985 to 1993, worked as an Assistant Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art and has been engaged in art and ceramic education since then. She is one of the founders of the Art Farm creative art studio and the Course Coordinator of the Art Specialist Course (Ceramics), Art Promotion Office from 2004 to 2007. Participated in the artists-in-residence program of the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park , Japan in 2007.

Work entered The 8th International Ceramics Competition Mino, Japan. Works are represented in the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Japan and in private collections.

Yims works reflect her strong interest in the forms of human body parts, the biological structure and chemical reaction in physical body. On the other hand, she regards clay as a matter that could nurtures lives; and also buries and decays lives; it also records the cycle of perpetuation and perish in lives. By taking ceramics as her major creative medium and showing favor to incorporating mixed media in works, she explored the triangular relationship between clay, material body and soul.

The amazing phenomenon of how material body emerges memories, emotions and desires; how the chains of chemical reactions related with mind and soul have been the recurrent source of poetic imaginations of her works.

嚴惠蕙
生於香港。1982 年畢業於香港中文大學藝術系。1991年修畢前理工學院高級陶藝證書課程。1985至1993年期間任香港藝術館助理館長,其後一直從事美術及陶藝教育工作,是「藝坊」創­作室創辦人之一,亦是2004至2007年藝術推廣辦事處藝術專修課程(陶藝)科目統籌。為2007年日本信樂陶藝之森駐場藝術家。作品入選第八屆日本美濃國際陶藝展。作­品為香港藝術館、香港文化博物館、日本信樂陶藝之森及私人所收藏。

嚴氏的作品顯示出對人體各部份的造形、生物構成和化學機制的濃厚興趣; 她認為泥是一種既能孕育生命,又能埋藏和消解生命,並且記錄生命循環的物質。她藉著陶瓷雕塑,並納入混合素材反覆探索泥、物質軀殼與心靈的三角關係。由物質構成的人體如何­盛載回憶、感情與慾望,而火樹銀花一般的生物化學傳遞如何與人的靈性拉上關係,都成為她的創作靈感,引發不斷的詩情和想像。
