Love that truck. DO NOT TRADE IT IN UNDER THE CASH FOR CLUNKERS PROGRAM!

Gasp!!! Blasphemy!!! I would never trade my old girl in for such a fate number one, and number two: Cash for Clunkers is a sham!! Shame on our govt. for enticing people to go into debt, destroying perfectly good vehicles in the process, AND worst of all, stealing from our children (and grandchildren) to fund such a piece of crap gimmicky ploy to "stimulate" (Yeah right) the economy. The number of people flocking to this sham makes me ill.

Good stuff. This would be great for making laundry detergent and other household cleansers -- not to mention the other standard external uses of baking soda-- stripping the hair of excess products, a skin exfoliant, drain clearing (when combined with white vinegar), deoderizing the carpeting /the refridgerator or other non-food surfaces, gardening, carpet cleaning. I guess if one wasn't "super -concerned" it could be used as a deoderant or a tub soak too. Thanks for sharing your find!

Love the farm truck. It's what it should be and not some ego booster but something useful. My previous car we called the humbler lol looked worse than your truck.

There's many uses for baking soda that it's worth getting such a large bag! I'll look for next time I'm at the feed store never thought to look there before. Thanks for sharing!

Ordered it through our feed store. Supplier is something like "Missouri seed". When I get it I'll try to give you more info!
And I do like your old beater farm truck, too! Mine is a 1966 Ford 1/2 ton. Looks a tad worse than yours, and it has a livestock rack in the back. Gets good use hauling feed and hay, and then taking the young sheep to market. I just don't like running it after dark because the electrical is a bit iffy.

Oh my gosh!!!! 1966 -- and a FORD!! Perfect. I have my Dad's 1976 Ford F102 in the big barn that he bought new and I learned to drive a stick shift on. . . I inherited it. The body is cherry, only has 78,000 original miles on it, but needs some engine work (that I can't afford right now). But someday. . . . I adore old trucks. They're just so . . . honest.

Another thing to look for at the feed store is molasses. My sheep love it in warm water in the winter.
As far as human use, it may not be as filtered or highly processed as the little jars you get in the grocery store, but it tastes just fine to me.
The big plus is that you can get a 5 gallon bucket of livestock molasses for $14.

Molasses! I was scanning the price board yesterday at the feed store seeing what else one might find there on the cheap and I never thought of molasses! Great tip about putting it in warm water in the winter. Goats also love a warm drink when it's cold and I bet they'd REALLY like it with molasses. I'll have to try that this year.

Just ordered 50lbs of certified organic wheat seed. (Thinking of planting it. I had already decided that if it looks clean enough... I'm ordering another for the house!!! 50lbs of wheat for $16!

I wish I could find a local supplier of organic seed. I'd love it for sprouting. . . But so far, nothing close. And $16 was CHEAP!!!
I'm sitting here green (with envy).
(P.S. How's the goat doing?)
