It never occured to them to use an instrumental version of Viva Las Vegas for this? That would've been a much better effect. Instead I feel like I'm listening to a dude singing along with his car radio.

Just based on this clip....ummmm....no....british was waaaaaay better...this seems to be poorly casted, poorly acted, poorly produced (i.e. the sound on that song)....yeahhhhh it would have been nice if it worked but ill stick with blackpool <3

HOnestly guys, I think it comes down to a difference of culture. Producers seem to think that anything successful in the UK will be successful here. They forget our cultures are actually quite different. Blackpool was very British and, unfortunately, the concept just didn't translate. Plus, it was poorly done!
