Zuo Ci outside my quarters

After finding Zuo Ci outside my quarters, I decided to reincarnate again. To make double sure of how I was to go about getting my next orb, I tried leaving courtyard both before and after taking on general. Both times, no orb. I had gotten Zuo Ci to reappear last time right after I purchased a chair, so I tried doing it again to see if Zuo Ci appears when you add to the storage. This time nothing happened. I am wondering if it somehow has been changed to have him reappear daily under certain circumstances? Cuz this has happened for 3 days now. And I've gotten the orb once each day.
