A quick look at the Samsung Renown for Verizon Wireless. The Renown is a dual-mode device that works on both CDMA and GSM networks. More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=6683
No. Verizon won't support video calls, so their devices won't. This is the ONLY non-smart phone, btw, that is world capable. Every other device, that is a world phone, is a smart phone. They developed this primarily for their business customers.
Well, the Gleam was out a full year earlier with the same basic specs and a lower price - so it would seem like a premium for dual-mode to me. Were it not for that, the device should have been cheaper than the Gleam since the price of a 2mp cam and QVGA display and other components have come down in the past year.
btw - This phone and its previous version, the Gleam, have really great sounding mp3 players.

Probably not since the "Gleam" was similarly priced, and that is not a dual-mode phone.

Yeah, mid-range features with a somewhat expensive price - but I believe that is due to the dual-mode nature of the beast.
