    muscle memory only helps by repeating the same task, like pressing buttons in the same order. But in this test, the positions of the buttons move, so you cannot just repeat the same movement

    This is only a fraction of their cognitive abilities. while chimps understand man made symbols, people don't understand chimps. Imho this is clearly a victory for the chimps.
