  • Hemp seed oil is more efficient as well... but has the anti-marijuana stigmatism against it

  • government incentives is what they call it. there can be many which is how and why this state of our country, tricked by the corporations. they will dump them too when they have nothing to own, they will be in the same line as they people they sold out on.

  • Very true. I'm not a fan of free market and capitalist THEORY, but those concerns are in a large part separate from the problems with what America calls "capitalism".

  • Has the consumer in America considered...oh, I don't know...cutting back somewhat? But then again, that would destroy our economy, our wasteful wasteful economy.

  • This isn't capitalism. American subsidies on corn-based ethanol is ruining the free market to determine prices.

  • The US should end the barriers against Brazilian suga-cane-based ethanol, which is way more efficient, it's cheaper and does not take away food crops.

  • Wow, no grain for livestock. Maybe this will encourage more grass-fed animals? It's not like these animals would depend on corn in the wild.

    What about switch grass?

  • thats the problem. you're only thinking of the USA. this is impacting poor farmers in other countries.

  • yea, sugar cane would be better... but the US doesn't grow a lot of it.

if the US is going to spend money on energy and it has a choice on whether to spend it locally or abroad, obviously it's going to support its own people!

  • i already agree with you, in part, about the problems with an ayn rand economy.

but what would you propose people do in this situation instead?

anyway, i don't understand what the problem is. if the price of food goes up, then that means that the poor farmers in developing countries will start making more money.
