Let's see if you can help me...
I have the remote that I've been using for a couple years now with my PS3 that just died (ylod twice).
I bought a new PS3, and it won't pair with it at all. I don't think I can take the remote back to the shop since I've had it for so long. The only thing I haven't tried from your video is pointing it to the back of the PS3.

What if you don't have a actual controller to navigate to settings?

Hi there i have tried this over and over again and nothing seems to be working i have just given up on it completely, i push start and enter button together for well over 3 minutes and nothing happens ?? any ideas thanks :)
Being a typical know all threw the instructions away when i first got it... Idiot.
But thanks to this i now have it paired properly, though will probably never actually use it xD . However, many thanks.

Im not sure as I've never tried it - the PS3 remote uses bluetooth only. Im not sure whether the sony blu ray remote uses bluetooth or IR. If its IR, then no it wont work.
However Logitech have all in one remotes which will work with everything including the PS3.

The only thing I can suggest is getting a replacement from the shop. If you have already done that, then you can try doing a complete restore of your PS3. Just make sure you save all your media and game saves on an external hd.
