There is an updated Tom the Turkey in the Carvel freezer at my local Acme Supermarket here in Atlantic County, NJ. These Carvel ads were legendary in their time. My mom absolutely hates Carvel's ads and refuses to eat any of their cakes.

I love doing horrible Tom Carvel impressions to irk her - so much fun. I even said "I'm COOKIEPUSS!" one time, and she totally fritzed out and told me not to imitate Cookiepuss!

And what kid wouldn't want Cookiepuss for Christmas?

Tom Carvel did NOT have the voice for this, but its good that he was enthusiastic about his product.

OK I love Patton but he totally overhyped how the voice sounds. I was getting all excited for some rock-salt in the esophagus action but that was pretty tame actually.

Tom Carvel kind of sounds like Jack Sheldon, only without singing.

my first job was cleaning the parking lot of the Carvel on the corner of Main St. and Madeline Ave. in Clifton N.J. for free ice cream and all the broken flying saucer cookies i could eat. I worked saturday mornings. I was 7 years old. 1955 :-)

The cakes were the best back then from the actual local store. Tom sounded like he had a bunch marbles in his mouth. He did have the best ice cream though.
