Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation is a discolouration that is left on the skin after an underlying skin disease has healed. When I experienced an acne breakout, I used a combination of Retin-A and Hydroquinone 4% to resolve the acne and treat the discolored macules left behind. In this short video I show you the products that helped me lighten the hyperpigmented areas of skin. Please comment below.

  • Nice video very informative. I believe that they only sell hydroquinone here in the US up to 2%. Anything else must be prescribed. Though I heard in some other countries such as in Africa they use it up to 30%.

  • @GodsGenuineGift I wonder which african country does that woah!!! 2% is already risking it with the unmerciful sun, because its reaction is tough on the skin- trust me I know. 30% is just downright lethal isnt? I wouldnt touch the thing no matter how quick the results.

  • @mwai0180 I would have to agree... Hydroquinone is a strong chemical even at lower strengths!!

  • @GodsGenuineGift Yes, I have heard that in the US, Hydroquinone 2% is available OTC and anything higher must be prescribed. In Canada, 2% is OTC and 4% is pharmacist controlled but is available without a prescription. Hydroquinone 30% sounds sooo dangerous! Thanks for your comment!

  • I've used Ultra Quin b4 and I have to say that it takes a very long time to lighten the dark spots...It took me a year to lighten a certain spot and that's $20 for a tube for a year! Thats crazy...I want results within 2 weeeks to few months...so I will definitely go to walmart 2day and pick up the sunscreen and the neostrata...I just hope they have it in stock! awesome video and review!

  • @vancitygurl Thanks for commenting, vancitygurl! I stopped using the hydroquinone 4% after 3 months (as per instructions) but I have noticed fantastic results on my hyper-pigmented spots. I still use Retin-A and my Dermaglow spf 100 everyday to maintain and protect from UV rays. How have your results been?

  • Hello. thank you very much for this video it has been very informative. I have a lot of macules on my face because I was on accutane and it did heavy duty work on my skin and really attacked my acne. So far I haven't had a breakout yet but I still have these macules especially were I had cysts before and its not pretty to look at and brings out a huge insecurity in me. I'm defintaley going to run to the store and look for this product. Thank you very much

  • Do you rub it in or just put it on the spots? Also how to apply it do I do the lotion 1st then the sunscreen and then the fading cream?
