The Seed Drill was for sowing cereals and other seeds, developed by Jethro Tull in England 1701.
The seed is stored in a hopper and delivered by tubes into furrows in the ground. The furrows are made by a set of blades, or coulters, attached to the front of the drill. A harrow is drawn behind the drill to cover up the seeds.
