I had bad luck with I but that was because the previous owner didnt take care of it

The 6.75 Tecumseh LEV series engines like this one are junk...bad oiling system, eventually the piston will gall the cylinder wall and you'll have a destroyed cylinder bore. They never put enough oil passageways into the bottom of the bore, and they used a silkscreen coating on the piston instead of chrome plating. Sooner, rather than later, this engine will die. The older Tecumsehs are great engines, though.

I have one of the 6.75 tecumseh and I love the motor. The mower itself is okay.

Then I just bought an OHC honda powered craftsman mower and the motor is weak crap. WEAK. The mower itself is better than the tecumseh's, but the sheet metal is ridiculously thin

I just got mine fixed today get the carb kit the day it start's up and die's that will be one of the problem's and it is common the carb is plastic.

Also cut down some weed's today with a eager-1 6.75hp tecumseh that a lady let me use to cut her weed's.

I was really glad to see the gas tank was bone dry gassed her up and it started she cut 3 foot tall weed's in her backyard when you hear it getting ready to die lift the mower up

I would rather have a mower like a lawnboy 2 cycle which will not die as eaisily as that did.

Tecumseh can make really crappy engines and really good ones. The 5 Horse on my Ariens is a BEAST but the 4.5 on my Yard Machines is shit. Too bad the company went out of business!
