@MrMaxwelldl wrong. stop speculating. the cleanup of the trick you just described would be impossible. letting a ring fall onto a spectators ring and allowing them to investigate it would be impossible if he tied a knot in the ring.

His right hand doesn't move at all when he keeps the ring still at 0:57 and how his right hand moves down at 1:00.
He has a string attached to his right hand, goes up around his ear, and comes back to the "floating" ring. He distracts the audience enough to tie a easily removable knot around the ring and then spins it to make it look cool.

I have this and once you watch the video and practice you can make people faint.... it becomes almost second nature... i one a magic show using this trick.... you have so many options... floating ring.... Magic Pencil.... Pulling money.... Haunted deck.... Boomerang card... just use your imagination!!! you will love the tarantrula!!!!
