  • what kind of camera is that? it looks very similar to my ricoh xr-2

  • @legolaray It is a Nikon FM2.

  • Aperture controls FLASH or INCIDENT light. Shutter speed controls AMBIENT or ENVIRONMENT light.

At least that is what I learned.

  • Yes -- you are correct. That is why you can drag the shutter, to expose the background, yet depend on the aperture to to determine the time period of the burst of light from a flash in TTL mode., to get the correct exposure for the main subject.

  • f/8 and be there.....

  • Thank you, Sir!

  • well i have a point and shoot canon powershot 990....with 7.7 - 28.5 mm......so is that why? are there any tricks that can cause depth of field?

  • The aperture is only one factor in determining depth of field (DOF). Longer lenses have less DOF than shorter lenses. For example, a 35mm lens at 2.8 will have much more DOF than a 200mm lens at the same aperture.

  • i set my camera to f2.8 but the background is still sharp. do i need to zoom in a little?

  • That was actually refreshing. Thanks
