Geert Wilders' Fascism Divides Dutch Nation

An anti-Islamic film in the Netherlands has come to divide a nation with a worldwide reputation for tolerance. The movie's creator, right-wing MP Geert Wilders insists the film [a short 15-minute clip] he has nothing against Muslims but against Islam. He was unable to find any mainstream Dutch TV channel willing to show it. He has been termed a neo-fascist by the center and the left.

He has been charged with hate-speech and is currently on trial in the Netherlands for inciting hatred against Netherlands Muslim minority community which continues to be demonized by fringe politicians such as Wilders and his ring-wing followers.

@SuperBabyBuddah: Its getting there! Your dear friend Geert Wilders & his PVV party recently started a new website called 'Shop a Migrant' which is racist & xenophobic towards Eastern Europeans. The same lot advocates arbitrary arrests of Muslim Dutch folks based on mere suspicion, stripping of citizenship & deportation to country of ancestry even when that person is 4th or 5th generation Dutch. Anti-semitism & Holocaust were the culmination of a similar process, NOT some sudden big-bang event!

Just as 'dumb' Germans were circulating cartoons of Jews with big & hooked noses in pamphlets & newspapers.. it was quite 'trivial' back then & in some ways did start as 'trivial' jibes at Jewish community until it culminated in to the Holocaust.. For centuries Jews were minorities without a state or army, unarmed against pogroms, defenceless against mass expulsions from the very countries to which they were contributing their labour and talents. They were made scape goats for everything from the death of Christ to the French & Russian revolutions, and whatever Jewish conspiracy myths you currently believe. To pose Holland's immigration policy as analogous to this is disingenuous.
