@Abacab7711: Dickey was invited by the ABB to participate in their 40th anniversary celebrations during their '09 Beacon Run. It would have been the perfect occasion to bury the hatchet--but Dickey declined the invitation. I wouldn't be too sure that it's Gregg (add Butch and Jaimoe to that) who doesn't want to end the feud. It seems Dickey might still be too bitter.

If only GREG Could FORGET THE PAST AND BRING BROTHER DICKEY BACK IN THE BAND. IT'S NOT THE ALLMAN BROTHERS UNTILL HE IS BACK !
AND LORD KNOWS GERG HAS PULLED AS MUCH DRAMA AS BETTS.
PUT THE BS ASIDE AND GET BACK TO THE MUSIC!

SHAME GREG ALLMAN CAN'T MEND HIS DIFFERENCES WITH DICKEY
Saw the "Brothers" (And I use that lightly) , And although good something was missing.
BROTHERS FIGHT AND DISAGREE, BUT Most of all they STAND BY EACH OTHER!
And Greg shure has shared his demons more than Betts.
THAT WOULD BE MY DREAM SHOW ALONG WITH A PETER GABRIEL GENESIS

I agree with skyman - trucks and haynes, are excellent as are many other top names but compared to Betts most of them sound slightly robotic to me. He has a special type of musical sole you can feel - it jumps out at you. For me particularly in Blue sky and Bouganvillea plus many others. Haynes is technically perfect but his guitar don't say the same things Betts guitar does if you know what I mean :D Dicky's guitar talks to you. Really regret never seeing him live with the Allmans.

The opening band was the Luke Mulholland Band...I know the drummer! :)
-
His last gig...how depressing. Next to Duane Allman nobody better.
-
do you remeber the name of the opening band that night?
