@tesla500 No they were made later then 1966, the one I have was bought by my parents very likely in the early 70s when they lived in Ottawa.

I'm lost. It is just an old box fan. What did I learn here? Those fans are a dime a dozen. I thought you were going to hook that diy refrigerantion system to it and put some a/c in your shop. That old tesla coil you had would have bolted right up to the front of that fan. Couse,then you'd have to worry about the condensation water, huh?

I have an old box fan, from 1980 , it is a variable speed Edision Comfort Fan. Uses the same type of switch as a rotary dimmer/on/off control for lights.

These were produced from 1959-1966 (approx) newer three speed revisions came out in the 70s. Metal and plastic bladed Rotors/Torcans were out in the late 70s and early 80s.

What kind of oil did you use for the fan?

@gatrwrks Whatever was in the oil can :) Probably motor oil. Likely not the recommended oil, but it works.

Congrats on finding a Vintage box fan!. All it needed was lubrication & the shaft lined up & this fan works like new again!. It should be in good condition when you clean it.

@TheCoolmaster100 Thanks! A new coat of paint and it'll be pretty much perfect, except for a few broken bits on the grille.
I couldn't find any date on this unit, I wish I knew how old it was. There was just a ratings sticker that said 115V 2.0A.
