I listed other examples you know, you can actually make a positive difference in the world & live on like that if you wanted. Serial immortality is only an inherently egotistical reason to have kids. If one did care about it, it is not a big deal & it still isn't a good enough reason to have kids.
The childfree ARE the community too & breeding is NOT a service to the benefit of the community, especially if you cannot make them into productive citizens & are not fit to be a parent.

People will never stop having children. The number of couples who have decided to not breed is only 20%. This is not endangering the future of the human race.

@kiwisunshine5233 True. Look at what is happening in the Philippines.. Manila has big overpopulation yet the catholic church is making it difficult for people to use birth control and such. Abortion is illigal so a lot of illigal abortion clinics are created (where a lot of girls can die). People cannot even take care of themself yet they have 8 or more kids. Let alone pollution and health problems in the area...

@usenetposts I agree that my decision is just as selfish as the decision to have kids. I also agree that people should try to do their utmost to make this world a better place. For some people this means NOT having children. I think if more people thought long and hard about wether to have kids or not there would be a lot less fucked up people growing up in the world (= less troubles overall?). People can contribute in a lot of ways, but even if you dont the decision is always yours

@usenetposts Responded in my other post.

@AnnieNM06 Yeah, thumbs up for you! :)
My reason not to have kids is that
- it doesnt interest me
- i dont like kids
- my personality (im a loner)
- there are way too many people polluting the world already
- i rather have a quality relationship with my soulmate then ruin it by having kids
- it is unethical
Dont call Child free people selfish. The decision to HAVE kids is just as selfish at least. Human beings are the only species who can make the decision to procreate or not, so that makes it a choice. I've made my choice. Peace.

@tsayad1986 It is indeed your choice to be, in your own words, a disinterested loner who dislikes children and considers his fellow man pollution, and it's MY choice to define that as a set of hallmarks of a deeply selfish person. Peace.

@usenetposts Infact im quite idealistic about a lot of things, but idealism is closely related to cynicism hence i dont have a very optimistic look on things. I like/ love some individuals but humankind as a whole... mweh.. Still i must say to you: respect for going vegan, and i wish more people followed your example in that way. On the selfish part: most reasons to have kids are deeply selfish, so maybe its best to leave the selfish part out of the discussion ;)

@tsayad1986 OK, it's up to people to examine themselves and decide whether their motives are selfish or not. This video doesn't identify any individual per se as selfish, it just says that there are such motivations for being childfree. I don't think you disagree. I know that it is hard to love humankind as a whole, almost impossible in fact, but one is faced with the fact that if one fails to love ones neighbours one can scarcely complain when one is not loved by them in return.

I believe 7 billion is quite enough. Proud to be Child free.

@tsayad1986 The week that the 7 billionth baby was born, I went vegan and decided never to drive again. This was an example to others, that if we all did it there'd been room for another 7 billion people with less of a challenge to the ecology of this planet than there is from 7 billion meat eaters who drive. Those lives are more important than for me to poison myself and others with animal proteins and car fumes.
