This was their last studio album...because the record company forced her to sign lyrics that people could understand instead of her usual, powerful and wonderful "voice as an instrument" style of lyrics...kudo's to Cocteau Twins to giving the finger to The Man...

No, their first bassist was Will Heggie, but he left after a couple of their first albums to be replaced by Simon Raymonde. The other main member of the band on lead guitar was Robin Guthrie. He was brilliant, but a producer's nightmare as I believe he couldn't play the same song the same way twice ! But who cares ? Whatever he played was brilliant.

So do I. But the song would have been so much better on the raw "Peel Sessions", or played live, and not in a state of the art studio. That's what I mean by over-production.
