A two-day operation aimed at HGV drivers who commit offences by not taking appropriate rest breaks was recently held on the A55.
The focus of the operation was checking the mechanical condition of lorries and also to ensure the drivers had taken sufficient rest periods.
Operation Carrier saw 35 HGV's being stopped by officers during Tuesday evening 18th and Wednesday evening 19th December on the A55 near Talybont, Bangor.
Sergeant Ifan Jones said: "The aim of the operation was to make sure that all drivers were complying with their driver hour regulations, not only to ensure their safety but also that of other road users in North Wales."
The operation found:
One lorry driver was ordered to take a 45 minute rest break prohibition.
Four drivers served with 24 hr prohibitions for failing to take weekly rest and/or failing to produce tachograph charts.
15 drivers served with 9 hr prohibitions for failing to take a daily rest.
Eight cautions were issued for minor infringements.
Inspector Pete Nicholson said: "It is always a concern when we find drivers who have not taken appropriate rest breaks. They are not only putting themselves at risk, but also other road users."
"This was a successful operation and we will continue with similar operations to help ensure the safety of all road users throughout North Wales."
