@N1mro8 And the Synology DS1511+ seems really easy to use and their customer support is really great and their DiskStation Manager looks really good as well. It's a bit expensive but I think it'll be worth it.
@N1mro8 Well, I like to have my movies in quite a big collection instead of just downloading it and then watch and after that delete it. But it's already too late anyway, because I made an order yesterday that includes Synology DS1511+ with one WD Caviar Green 3TB HDD and one WD My Book Live 3TB. I figured that it would be nice to have a backup and I don't want to mess around with RAID. With a backup on an external HDD I can take all those movies and TV Shows with wherever I go.
If you just going to use it ONLY for movies/tv shows then this is one is to much for your needs. Just get a network HDD or something. If you want to do more then this is a nice contender, but do you really need 4 HDD drive bays? Look at the qnap with 2 drive bays. You also have an compare sheet on their own website (qnap.com) of their own products of course.
Hi looking for a new NAS. Today my Netgear ReadyNAS duo 2TB NAS device seems pretty broken and I can't access the files any longer. Have been getting errors since day one as well. Anyhow, I wanna know if this one can carry 3.5" HDDs and if there's a limit on how much capacity it goes up to. Is it also easy to setup and use for the average user? I'm just gonna use it for movies and TV shows for my Boxee Box. Is it okay to let it be turn on 24/7 or does it needs a rest every now and then?

@itaktimi
You now have the 419PII, is the newer model. But I don't think it's worth the money over an 419P+.

Hi. Do you know if QNAP has a version that supports USB 3.0?

@baleric00 419P+ is a new model and does NOT have lockable drive bays. This one is older 419P which has lockable bays.

@prickskytte Having lots of files (thousands) in one directory is always slow. Thats not specific for this product.
