  • i converted over from an electric to a gas kiln, its an old box kiln

  • hi mark, thanks for subscribing. i think i went up to high with the temp cone 11 or 12. my temp probe was to high in the kiln. on my second firing i lowered the probe to get a better reading. and bought a new one that would go to 3000F .the shelves well i broke down and bought 2 14" 14" advancers. well worth th bucks. the gauge i got at ward burners but don't waist your money its not accurate. i must say though i had some nice peices come from that first firing. nice reduction.. thanks john

  • did you build this by hand, or did you buy it?

  • Great video John. I am looking for an old kiln right now that I can convert. I am also building a Raku kiln but want to keep it just for Raku and now I see aluminum Sagger too. Nice work on that btw. Anyway, I just found your channel and have not seen all your videos hope you have the completed firing on here for this kiln. What did you do to prevent the kiln shelf from melting again, was it just moving the probe and keeping the temp down? also where did you the your regulator with the gauge?
