This is a scene assembled from test footage I shot in 2008 for a horror film I really wish to make called Descension.
The plotline goes like so:
Clive Samson is a young man who is going through a rough patch in his life. Despite his attempts to mend all that is wrong for him right now, something sinister has set its eye on him as a target... an entity that embodies the personal demons of its victims and uses that to bend them to its will. Will Clive be able to escape from this malevolent being or will he be pulled into the darkest recesses from which there is no escape?
The setup for this scene goes along these lines. After his apartment was broken into, Clive decides to stay the night with his friend Lex. However, this does not stop whatever is pursuing him.
Also, I have prepared a list of answers to questions people will probably have.
Q: Why does Clive get to sleep in the bedroom while Lex lays on the couch?
A: Actually, Lex has a two bedroom apartment. One room is his own bedroom and the other is an office/guest room. He simply fell asleep on the couch while listening to some music. However, even if Lex didn't have two bedrooms, he would probably give Clive the bedroom since Clive has a severe & complicated case of Perthes' Disease (a disease where the hipbone deteriorates and flattens out). So in order to make his friend more comfortable, he would willingly give up his own bed because he's just a nice guy like that.
Q: Why is it Lex can hear the door jiggling over his music yet can't hear his friend screaming for mercy?
A: I know, I know, it looks cheesy and hokey. However, in actuality, that moment where Lex peaks his head up is him merely sensing the presence of the entity. You know when you have one of those sudden moments where you just feel something is not right? Well, that's what was going on there. However, when Lex couldn't sense it anymore, he drifted back off into sleep and remained tuned out to what was happening.
Q: Ok, so why doesn't the entity attack Lex then?
A: Because its target is solely Clive at the moment. Any other persons would be viewed as an interference if they got involved and complicate/delay the situation beyond all repair. Even if the entity were to quickly kill off those people, it still puts a halt in its progress, especially since it aims to make someone suffer. Only if the unrelated person gets involved, and killing that person would really affect the victim who is already strongly trapped in the web of the entity, will it dispose of the other person.
Q: Why are there a few moments where the camera goes out of focus very quickly? How come the colors are so muted and everything so grainy?
A: All this footage was shot with a crappy camcorder. Thus why this was branded as test footage.

That is actually excellent. I like the editing, the choice of shots, the music, the effects. Good job there man. There was a genuine sense of creepiness on display also.
