Jim you are brilliant! In 1988 I loved The Railway Series AND Spitting Image so I don't know how I managed to miss this one.
-
@TMRReturns OK, though I'm quoting facts you seem to have missed. I'm researching things, like you told me to :)
-
@TMRReturns And Wikipedia says that that christmas special was just an amalgamation of two episodes previously released only on VHS - so a new christmas special was made out of joining two episodes together - which, presumably, were recorded in 88 along with the others.
-
@TMRReturns Maybe because sometimes TV producers put the datestamp of the year it was broadcast, not the year it was recorded. I've been asked to do that a few times by ITV or shows that had at least three years between recording and transmssion.
-
@TMRReturns Youtube says that you've enabled friend lock - I can't send a message to you unless you add me as a friend so you can look up Ringo Starr's drinking problem for yourself if you don't believe me about that.
But Wikipedia states that he starred in only the first series of STS - which began in January 1989, so presumably the series had been recorded in spring/summer the previous year, before the scandal struck in October/November that year.
-
@TMRReturns I have researched it - there's plenty of evidence out there on the internet. I'll send you the link to an article in a private message - can't do it here because of the spam filter.
And I wasn't talking about this "Shining Times Station" thing - I was talking about the Thomas the Tank Engine series. The UK show.
Though according to the Wikipedia article on the series, it doesn't look as though he stayed in STS beyond the first series, probably due to getting plastered regularly!

@thomastrain132 So that's another person, who is a Thomas fan, telling me what to do, using capitals telling me to be mature?
I only politely enquired out of interest why you find it rubbish, considering it's a pinnacle of British comedy. It's you turning it into something to get angry about.
You like much British humour, or not much?
go ringo and the beatles!!!
