  • @ellhow When addressing a former president you are correct he is addressed as "Mr. President" ... when writing about a former president that distinction can be made.

  • For those who didn't know, this guy actually bailed out of a fighter plane in WWII over hostile Chi-Chi Jima (a couple of miles away from Iwo Jima). At least he had military experience before he took charge of it (no that isn't a potshot at GW or Obama specifically, it's just a trait I admire).
