@Andante735 I agree, there should be room for more than one interpretation of a role or an aria and in discussing these, it is more appropriate to give criticism based on the actual performance instead of the comparison with other singers. When fanatics try to glorify their idol by claiming that everybody else was inferior they only succeed in making their idol smaller than he or she was. As for Tebaldi, I think she was a generous person who would be the first to aknowledge other singers merits.
