  • hi j!!

where is the best place to set the dial?

  • To c0nn0lly07, all depends on the speaker and the size of the bass cab. I generaly set it to X over at 100HZ, this way you just kake out the low bass from the mid top and then get a good low feel to the bass. j

  • Isn't it dangerous to set the crossover point so low? You might end up damaging the tweeter/horn, or am I wrong? I would appreciate your though on this.

  • get a drive rack .that ,s not going to getit

  • I'd chop off my pee-pee before I'll ever buy a peavey.

..Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I'm not the OP, but I can answer this basic question, even though I'm no expert. It's prolly too late, but if someone else wanted to know, I'll answer anyway.

-Yes, that is what a crossover is for. It makes your sub play only bass from one amp (or channel), and your mid/high speaker play only mid/high from another amp (or channel).

-Yes, you will need to get an an amp to run the sub. Make sure the amp you get is matched, as far as RMS power is concerned, with your sub.

  • Can you run from a XO off the low frequency output to an amp that runs subs, and off the high frequency output to powered speakers as your mains?

If so, how would you tune that?

  • Thanks, really helpful, now I can get my stereo set up right!

  • Does Peavey supply the butter knife for twisting the crossover frequency,or do you purchase it Separately ?

  • can you please telll me how you did this setup ?

  • @c0nn0lly07 Most of the time in a 2 way system like this the crossover position should work out fine between 80-120hz. The guy in the tutorial refers to the 20 as a 20k frequency but clearly the eq panel goes from 1-20 but there is a "100x" meaning the number on the panel "times 100= frequency" Therefore this adjustment pot goes from 100 to 2000 hz, New and better x-overs i.e. Ashly XR1001 have better x-over points, response and hi-pass filters on mono 2 or 3 way or stereo 2 way..

  • You sound like David Cameron but I trust you!

    Thanks for the lesson!

  • Hey I was wondering if you could plug passive and active speakers into one crossover
