Video from NSDIC (National Snow and Ice Data Center) showing the age of the Arctic sea ice from 1982 to 2007. You can see that the ice greater than 5 years old (in red) has mostly been replaced by much younger ice (in blue).

Most of the ice in the western or Pacific end of the Arctic has melted this year (2007)

  • this icecap has recovered to within one percent of normal

  • sorry but you've got some bad data. Check out the current area at the NSIDC website. It's currently so low that it's on track to set another record low.

  • the judgment day is near.

  • The Earth is going to do it's thing no matter what. It's happened before but we just were not here. Let's quit the fear mongering and just enjoy the ride.

  • good for u!!!!!!!

  • The government controlled media are making you love mother earth so you will fuck anything she made. You will be a fossil fuel oneday for someone.irony.

  • If you google "NghiemEtal2007_MYreduction.pdf" without the quotes you'll see the top hit is a pdf file of a paper by Son Nghiem of J.P.L.

Check out figure 3 in that paper: It's a graph of the reduction of multi-year ice.
