Tinnitus is the word we use to describe hearing certain phantom sounds. Tinnitus is not a disease. Rather it is generally a symptom of something wrong in your auditory system. The dictionary defines tinnitus as the sensation of noise, often ringing or roaring, in your ears that comes from inside your head in the absence of any external sound.
Since there is normally no external sound corresponding to the sounds you are "hearing," tinnitus is truly a phantom sound. Your brain actually detects signals in your auditory system or in its own auditory circuits, and you perceive and "hear" them as real. Make no mistake about it; to you the phantom tinnitus sounds are just as real as any external sounds.

i have it to but after one year i learned how to deal with it. And no .... no fucking pills or some kind of treatment .. Just learn to accept it and deal with it like you had it all of your life. It so much easier this way. I can hear it ringing now .... but i dont give a fuck ! Its just a sound .. so what .. It can be so easy when u stop worrieng about it. Trust me !

i have tinnitus and im only 23, ive raved until the early morning and got some top quality headphones to pump the music to enjoy the music i love. but when i got tinnitus it was because of water. Had a bath 1 night and both ears were full of wax. dont just blame music, ears like a honeycomb are even worse

@Ben1987X Ok. I got my ears done yesterday, apparently there is air stuck behind my ear drum? they flushed it but its gone now. i still have that annoying burn and itch though. arrgh

@LoLlYrAiNbOwS Thanks for you reply! I have hppd/visual snow I don't know if you know anything about this. I got my ears checked everything was perfect. I don't suffer fromt it as much as a time ago (knocking wood)
