A wave of ethnic violence followed. By the end of January more than 1,500 people had been killed.
The following month, Kofi Annan, the former UN secretary-general, brokered a power sharing deal between Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga. Yvonne Ndgege reports

Veltanschaung You will never be able to talk any sense to Obama supporters. The are weak minded and a bunch of zombies. They ignore facts about Obama. Most of them haven't even heard of Raila Odinga, or someone else who has helped shaped the thinking of Obama - Saul Alinsky.

Obama was in Kenya '06 paying money for the Campaign of Mr. Odinga for "Change"... Since, 1500 dead Kenyans and over 300,000 women and children refugees in their own country! Obama's beneficiaries advocated Sharia Law and death by stoning to girls and women. Shame! Misguided, ignorant Obama should issue apology to the suffering women and girls of Kenya due to his "efforts" that resulted in the murders and rapes of girls and women, now homeless & with no medical care. Shame!

NOTHING is free in this world. When people find out that all things in a political sphere eventually cost money (or labor as money) they are surprised!
Idiots! Nothing in this world is free. Any "handout" eventually costs someone something. Only politically naive children believe that they can receive "free" (something) like health care.
Eventually most grow up politically; realizing that they must make an effort to get along w/ others & work for a living. That's when they stop living fantasy.
