I took an American history exam last week and got stuck on the question, "what senator was Lincoln's opponent in the Kansas-Nebraska debates prior to the 1860 election. Well, randomly i began singing "Stephen A. Douglas was the great debater, Abraham Lincoln was the great emancipator!" under my breath, and there it was! Thank you Sufjan, you are a study failsafe.

When I was playing in a USTA Pro Circuit tennis event at Fairview Park on Monument Drive in Decatur in 2010 I had no idea that somebody had written a song about this town. About five years before in fact. Got to see Lake Decatur, ADM plant, civil rights museum along with the Chevrolet Museum on the way out of town.Western side of town lovely parks, the big university and newer businesses and east you get the smell of the paper and chemical plants. Worth the trip from Ala. 1st time in Illinois.
