You should research about this old man. Even before US and its allies came to Afghanistan this guy was actively taking sides in Afghan civil war. He was helping brother kill his own brother in Afghan civil war by helping Uzbak against Hazara, Pashtun against Tajik etc etc. I do not feel sorry for him because he prolonged the war in Afghanistan and killed thousands of young Afghans.

Mullah Umar personally made an appeal to spare his life so did the Haqqanis. Afghan Taliban had nothing to do with this. Taliabn say that Pakistani Taliban has no affiliation with them
