  • 2 or 3 months before they split. Pete and Steve not communicating at all at this stage. Steve tripping on strong acid in this clip. Seriously sinister sound, one of their best in my opinion.

  • Out frickin standing!!!

My 1st punk tune I heard in or about 77-78 always been my favorite Buzzcocks tune! Thanks!

Prince ripped off the riff for rasberry beret lol!

  • To think, I was rocking out to "Hulk Hogan's Rock and Wrestling Connection." Have always loved the Buzzcocks, but this song somehow, mysteriously, rises above the ranks.

  • i love how John Maher looks so cool 0:48 whilst the kids tap his drumkit..god help them if they were in the presence of Ringo Starr aka Hard Days Night retort "RINGO: Leave them drums alone.FLOOR MANAGER: Oh, surely one can have a tiny touch.I can just have a little touch.RINGO: If you so much as breathe heavy on them, I'm out on strike.FLOOR MANAGER: Aren't you being rather arbitrary? hehe got to love The Buzzcocks!

  • Wow, I never knew until just now. I always knew this as a Heaven 17 song ( one of my favorites!!)...didn't know it was a cover. I like the Buzzcocks and I love H17...even though this original version is pretty awesome...still gotta go with H17..sorry. lol.

  • This is the sound that the Buzzcocks should of had 12/18 months before. The whole pop punk structure of their tracks was pretty passe by 1979 and having Joy Division support them in that year was a brave move to say the least as it showed to some extent the past and the future. This is one of their best tracks and it certainly helped moving from Rushent to Hannett, though this didn't sell that well, though I'm sure they were past caring by that stage.

  • Nice tashe! Lol

  • Fractalite you are right. This was the only song the Buzzcocks ever did with Martin Hannett and Martin told me personally that they wrote, recorded and mixed the song all in one session at the studio all of them out of their minds on acid. If you listen carefully at the end of the single you can hear them using the knives and forks and spoons and things from the little kitchen at the studio in the backing tracks......Hannett told me it was a lot of fun. They just went a bit mad.

    Great song.

  • Single was the only one they ever did with Martin Hannett......he told me they were all tripping at the session, wrote, recorded and mixed the track all in one long session out of their minds on acid. If you listen to the single at the end you can hear them crashing around silverware from the studio mini kitchen and odd things like that in the background. LOVE LOVE LOVE this track....great for the kiddies too. In an early interview Shelley said his aim in writing pop was to corrupt youth.

  • This is definitely my favorite thing on youtube. I'm including all of the incredibly puppy and kitten videos I've seen. This blows them out of the water.

  • yeah their last singles are my fave! strange thing is the best song ever!!!
