The Eternal Frame by Ant Farm at the Getty Museum

"California Video" is a showcase of video art made in California and is a special show at the Getty Museum. This exhibition ran from March 15 - June 8, 2008.

The piece shown here is a piece by T.R. Uthco and Ant Farm called "The Eternal Frame" made in 1975. Instead of just displaying the video on a screen (like many other videos at this exhibition), the Getty chose to display this installation in a home setting very similar to that time period. Decorated on both walls are postcards, posters, paintings, and memorabilia plates of JFK, and from the TV set to the magazine pile next to the couch to the carpet was all time capsule objects from 1963. What I captured here is the setting the artist chose to display this video in.
