@nathanthemole You are absolutely right! you see, nothing in life is for free. our ancestors were great because they strived to be so. didnt sat on their asses like we did for the past 2-3 centuries. the ottomans werent just about war, they were about civilization, developement and culture. some modern mosques were destroyed in the great earthquake that hit turkey in 1999. funny how no ottoman mosques were damaged.... its all about character really. they had character.

Insofar as I know, demonizing the Ottoman justice and culture, sultans, and especially the status of "women" in public was a masonic conspiracy in the past... So, nothing is as it seems to be ;-)

@Serkanbah I was talking about the spirituality of Ottoman Turks of those times motivating them to dare things inconceivable for the great many. Losing your identity after a salvation war does neither refer to independence nor victory. It might seem like a conditional existence of a pro-western country in the region. I'm sorry, but there might be records supporting that claim in the western archives so go and read. Also, read every archive, you have nothing common with your legendary ancestors.
