@IWEEW Im not going to go into depth on the topic because im not here to flood the comments section. However, if you did a little bit of research, you would find out that illegalizing abortion would be detrimental to not only women, but to society as a whole. Oh, and the circumstances under which it was created is only part of the issue... the problems that may arise for the child and the mother during and especially after birth are the real issue here.
-
@Randomidable It may have been conceived as a result of unintended circumstances, but those circumstances shouldn't have any bearing on the value the human life that has been created.
-
@IWEEW If only things were so simple.... theres an incredible amount of factors to consider before saying that a fetus shouldnt be "denied" the life it may face.
-
@Randomidable Every single fetus is on its way to becoming a "fully conscious and developed human being," barring any natural miscarriage. Just because a fetus or embryo can't feel anything yet shouldn't mean it can be denied the entire life it faces.
-
@IWEEW Killing a criminal for "justice" only makes you no better than a criminal. A criminal is a fully conscious and developed human being with emotions, pain, etc. A fetus is a ball of cells that is not fully developed. Abortion has benefits including the well being of the mother as well as the child itself and society. The death penalty is only an act of vengeful violence that only achieves the effect of suffering and tells society that revenge is a good way of dealing with things.
-
@Randomidable We can talk all day about whether or not politicians "adequately understand" the effects of their policies. What's at issue here is whether or not conservatives are, as you say, hypocritical for supporting the death penalty while opposing abortion. One is killing someone over the age of 18 for a serious crime; the other is killing a completely innocent person in the womb. If you understand the major differences, it's NOT hypocritical to support the former and oppose the latter.

@IWEEW I never suggested that conservatives want babies to suffer in life. I am merely saying that conservatives only look at the superficial meaning of abortion ("killing" a fetus) and fail to go any deeper or actually think of the many negative outcomes of illegalizing aboriton. At the same time, they hypocritically support the death of criminals and reducing the amount of healthcare without adequately understanding the negative outcomes of either issue.

@Randomidable Wow. Are you actually suggesting that conservatives want to keep unborn babies alive just so they can make sure they suffer in life? Think about what you just said.
I happen to be against capital punishment, but killing someone who has committed a crime bad enough that the state deems the criminal worthy of death is NOTHING like denying a completely innocent unborn human the right to life. It's amazing that you would compare the two.
It weird how republicans want the baby to live, but when the baby comes out, they dont want to help for healthcare to help the baby live..

Conservatives are completely ignorant and hypocritical lol. "Abortion is wrong because its killing someone, so lets support the death penalty and reduce the amount of healthcare." There are so many things wrong with denying women the right toabortion... almost as many things as there is with being a conservative.
