The hen that has been out of the battery farm for a while uses its greater strength to bully the other 2! So, larger accomodation is needed and 3 feeders. Despite their poor condition and change of environment, at least two are laying. Tomorrow they have their first run outdoors. They've discovered the joy of varied food and having space to move around.

  • p.s. there's another 3 now, also recovered well from Belsen.

  • @sono190686 I think they usually leave the battery at about 18 months. Mine recovered very quickly, and it was very cold. I have 3 more since, they looked in MUCH worse shape - the farmer had gone bankrupt - but they're all doing well now. Any life you can give them is better than the battery farm :)
