This video shows the "Nutmeg & Mace" sculpture, Mini Water Fountains, red-coloured curvy benches and the "Urban People" sculptures found in front of ION Orchard Shopping Centre, Singapore.

Since unveiling, ION Orchard's Nutmeg & Mace and Urban People have been very popular with local and oversea visitors to the mall. Many have picked up their cameras or videocams and take pictures.

"Nutmeg & Mace" sculpture (Stainless Steel & Car Paint):
The giant nutmeg signature sculpture marking the corner of Paterson and Orchard roads is a must-see pit stop. Singapore artist Kumari Nahappan was commissioned to create this whimsical piece, which harks back to the days when Orchard Road was a nutmeg plantation.
"I think Kumari's Nutmeg & Mace in front of ION Orchard is pretty cool. You can't get much more kitsch than a giant fruit, and people like to take photos in front of it (a sure sign of kitsch). But its materials and form are interesting too. It's also site-specific, as it refers to the nutmeg plantation that gave Orchard Road its name many years ago," quips writer and art commentator Peter Schoppert.

"Urban People" sculptures
You can't miss these multi brightly-coloured human figurines "Urban People" sculptures on the steps of the ION Orchard. These larger-than-life aluminium figurines were created by Swiss sculptor Kurt Laurenz Metzler for a theatrical effect and was commissioned by ION Orchard and created in collaboration with Galerie Belvedere. The sculptor says his inspiration is "everyday people, people going about their daily business" and he hopes that they would stimulate and engage passersby to reflect on themselves. A male figure in a suit, holds up a newspaper, while a purple, pony-tailed woman swaggers along with a bag in hand, with a nod to the location.

Mini Water Fountains:
These mini water fountains with water sprouting from the steps to the entrances of the ION Orchard Shopping Centre are delightful watching and listening art pieces for the onlookers and shoppers alike.

Red-coloured benches:
These brightly coloured curvy benches serve the purpose for tired shoppers as well as provide focal points for interesting artistic viewing
