Sorry, I accidentally deleted a comment from jeni200809 that said these athletes had too much skill to be disabled and that she didn't think they were really Special Olympics athletes.

I was trying to reply jeni saying first of all, thanks for answering the ignorant r-word comment below, and then to say that while yes, they do have tons of skill, they are indeed SO athletes at training camp last July. The really good team here won the gold in Shanghai at the World Summer Games last October.

Special Olympics is for people with intellectual disabilities. Of which there are many varieties and degrees of severity. You may be confusing them with Paralympics which is for people with physical disabilities. They are separate organizations.
