if you live in Pitt and would normally pay for wood, you would be an idiot not to use coal. MUCH easier/cheaper/longer burning. Good luck.

We heated with an old wood furnace like that in our home for around 25 years. Two years ago we decided to upgrade to an EPA Certified woodfurnace. Since then we have dropped at least 2.5 cords from our usage and our chimney stays much cleaner. We get longer burns and an even constant heat. I would never go back to the old furnace again.
