This is umpire Jim Joyce's Apology for his call that ruined Armando Galarraga's perfect game. As you can tell by his apology, he was truly upset by his mistake.

The day after the almost perfect game, Galarraga and Joyce made up and Galarrga got a new car (I think it was a Chevy).

  • I have so much respect for Joyce..he admitted that he screwed up and is more of a man because of it. Instead of backing up and making excuses he admits and apologizes. Nobodys perfect its a human mistake and it sounds like he didnt mean to do it. I hope he keeps his job..

  • at least he handled this maturely, that's why MLB players voted him the best umpire

  • JOYCE IS A PUSSY

  • I hated Jim Joyce for all of about three hours. Then I saw this and I couldn't help but acknowledge the balls it took to own up like this. I really felt bad for the guy.

  • @buckeyeslee711 And galarraga did recive his perfect game for that?

  • He had more than a perfect game. He had a perfect +1 game.

  • He had better than a perfect game. He had a perfect +1 game.

  • @lalm you dont know what the hell you would call because youve never been in that situation! as an umpire you cant choose sides, and everybody should respect him for admitting his mistake

  • what if tigers fans saw him....dead

  • Its just baseball man....Time passes on. Baseball is fade in time and when We are all gone from this earth no one will care anymore.

  • @SuperBoogala the thing is though that anybody else would have called him out, you would have called him out, i would have called him out. This is well beyond a simple mistake. He will be remembered for this and i do think he deserves all the hate, he brought all of this upon himself. Now hes got the whole world to remind him of that call (and himself obviously)

  • if anyone is making fun of him or saying shit about the bad call you obviously are retarted cause he has the balls to admit he was wrong like yeah he made a mistake but everyone does
