This animation demonstrates the types of sounds that are presently being recorded on the Marianas Hydrophone Array. It also depicts how the sound travels through the SOFAR channel to the array. Video courtesy of Submarine Ring of Fire 2003 Exploration, NOAA Vents Program.

  • Hmmmmmmm you are a idiot, this is how they detect it.

  • It just show how the hydrophone work in a tsunami condition and how the ship can get the raw data since its not easy to transmit large data underwater so they have to "pick it up" to get all the data.

  • i know what this is it i think is used for two things one tsunami alert second it scences if it needs to send tsunami alert or if its an animal so it like a tsunami detector

  • that whale sounded like my dad after tacos lmao but for reals read the discription ;)
