  • @Cyrus2182 No problem, thanks for the reply, it just seemed a bit extreme to blame Rolex on the quality of their movements and dials. I just don't expect them to be better, because compared to other watches I own, mine is very well made and I really can't find anything negative on the built quality. But it's nice to see that people care about it!

  • @jey2010 Just re-read my comment and it seems now to be a bit of an over-reaction. It's just that Rolex has such a rich heritage and pioneered many of the features that are standard today on nearly all analogue wrist-watches, that it's a shame they seem to be slipping on certain quality issues. For what they sell for, one really expects perfection.

  • @Cyrus2182 Obviously this isn't a new model and all watches will have scratches after a while. But I really can't see your point on the quality of Rolex. Of course they could sell their watches for half of the price if they would let the Swatch Group do 50% of the product, that's what Omega does, for example. A Rolex is 100% made by Rolex and 100% made in Switzerland, and they can be proud of that. And compare them to Timex and Casio is actually a shame.

  • A moment of quality! Pah those closeups just emphasize all the scatches and imperfections. I'm reading all over the place how modern Rolex's movements and dials are prone to dust much more than other watch companies even the low-end ones like Casio and Timex! And that their overall quality is that of low to mid-range automatics are way overpriced and that, for instance Omega's even though they're less than half the price are of much better quality. And I used to be a Rolex fanboy. A real shame.
