Players , Coaches just having fun & getting pumped up for the game. However, Coach at end goes too far when he crosses the field...otherwise, just football as usual. What are they teaching and what are players learning from coaches? What works...positive or negative reinforcement? Maybe depends on the player? Nothing terrible here, just stupid.

  • I was an amazing athlete in high school. Did lots of yoga, running, and weights.

I could run, fast, throw well and had good size.

Very diversified and self-motivated with a good feel for just about any sport.

But I could never get into the mindset that most coaches think needs to be instilled to make people motivated and perform...the drill "sarge"...totally killed it for me.

So I ditched team sports and became a solo tennis player and swimmer.

  • Well said. I could not have put it better...the "sarge" mentality=perfect!...and this video is the tip of the iceberg from what I've seen...although, it appears CIF is doing what it can to stop the coaches, and parents, from getting too crazy over a call. They banned us from all games held @ LAUSD schools. We haven't even put up the really amazing stuff...we dont want people to lose jobs, just shape up.

  • Im a coach and I do not act like this. This is terrible and the language

  • Constant swearing ruins the effectiveness of a good cuss word. We worked with coach Croson 3yrs @Bham, some at Chaminade, and never heard the guy swear...ever. His teams won 4 L.A. City Chmpnshps in 6yrs. The players rally around him like Skywalker to Yoda. A benevolent taskmaster who emphasizes team and character. He doesn't swear, doesn't have to..difference tween Positive vs Negative re-enforcement...when a player's challenged on the street, what then?swear at him? That's what coach did.

  • To coach a guy up you dont have to use profanity. I get loud but I dont cuss a player or (swear).

  • @HumbleMinisterT

Way 2 Go coach...I had one, maybe two coaches like that...best of the lot.

  • I haven't seen this thing in months and it still annoys me. You don't have to swear when you're calling your team into a huddle. saying "fuck" every 5 seconds.

Yesterday i was coaching and I said to a kid "don't fuckin' walk after finishing the bags, run through"... i lost my cool too and it happens. But too much is too much.
