The Federal Government is demanding that Telstra split its business into two. If Telstra refuses to split its wholesale from its retail arms, the government will force it to sell its stake in Foxtel and its high-speed cable network, there is also the threat of denying it any new mobile spectrum. It is the biggest shake-up of the telco industry since the Hawke government reforms of the early 1990s. The Rudd government will also beef up the ACCC's regulatory powers to manage disputes over access to Telstra's networks.

I think Telstra should just Tell the Government to stick it cause it's not their fault that other companies can afford to competiet as good as they are doing but on the other hand it would be nice if Telstra could lower their prices a bit. but this would proberly weakig Telstra to much and then the Government would buy them out and so on and so forth either way Stephen Conroy needs to be sacked
