  • One of the best Jackie McLean tunes, I have listened to it many times during 30 years, what a bluesfeeling!!

  • Gilly Coggins is the piano player on this cut. A car accident led to his hospitalization,where he died. Up until the accident he ran a jam session at the C-Note (now defunct). Not only was he a consummate master of the88's,he had a deeply ironic take on the vagaries and injustices of the music business. I once told him I read a glowing article about him in a reference work and he said "Yeah..Did it say how broke I am"?
