Is it so hard to believe that there are things we as a human race cannot comprehend? Its not like we have the answers to all of life's mysteries. I think its ignorant and close minded to believe that you think you know how these mystery spots work when top scientists cant even come up with a definitive answer. Besides, scientist don't even know exactly how our brains work. Life is basically based on a series of proven theories and until these theories are proven, they remain MYSTERIES....
So in other words...if you can't explain something you see, then don't bother trying to figure out what causes it....just call it a MYSTERY.
There's your answer, sure 'nuff. Why in the world did we ever need to learn that the Earth is round? Why didn't we just accept the fact that when a ship disappears beneath the horizon, it actually DID fall off the edge of the Flat Earth?
Calling everything we don't yet understand a MYSTERY would make our lifes so much less complicated, wouldn't it.
for god sake it doesn't need a scientist to explain this shit, the whole area was built a certain degree that it could conflict with the earths gravity, just quit it..
Only problem is, every single branch on every single tree is growing the same direction. Looks like too much work for the people working there, to me. And everything is level. Why would a ball roll the same direction everytime, or change course and roll back towards someone, if it is level?
The mystery spot is real I am assuming you all have never been there. Scientists have been trying to figure out why the laws of gravity don't work there for years. If you bring a bubble level with you you will see that the laws of gravity are thrown out the window. Things actually do roll up hills. There are more smaller spots around Santa Cruz that have the same phenomenon that are only known to locals know of.
A reasonable answer rawtoast, however it's not an illusion if surveying equipment demonstrates a slope, and the car rolls up the slope when it shouldn't. I agree that many mystery spots are bunk where optical illusions apply, but not all.
A wise man once said "When you remove the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be true." Rolling uphill is impossible. So there must be a logical explanation for why it appears to do so.
Yes, Occam's razor is a useful thing. However one of the untapped frontiers of Physics is gravity, let alone the behavior of gravity on a rotating sphere. The Physicist Burkhart Heim had some interesting things to say on the subject amongst a great many other things.
