Your dog thinks it is an alpha dog - you've gotta correct that. Lots of small dogs become "pack leader" (rather than their owner) because their owners let them do what they want, and don't show any leadership qualities. Not meaning to be rude or anything, but when your little dog barks at a stranger or tries to stop you taking food, it isn't "cute" or "funny"- it indicates "alpha" behaviour ultimately meaning a dog that's impossible to discipline or control, that may bite people. Look it up.
