These Men were, are and always will be Hero's and will never be forgotten. My Great uncle was a Marine raider, he was a Great Man and my Hero. Thank you' to all who served! Gung Ho.!

….but Raiders did not operate in small units, down at squad or platoon echelon.
Raiders operated by companies upto battalion size raids on hard corps enemy installations.
Raiders are closer to the kin of a Ranger unit, not Force Recon.

When I developed the story, I felt that rather than focus on a story that had been told before, it would be more interesting to tell those parts of the story that were not told. Additionally, Ken O'Donnell was not on the Makin Island raid and the story is the Raiders through his eyes as a Raider and not just an over all Raider story. Length was another factor that prevented certain things from being in the final story. I would have liked it longer but I don't make those decisions.
