@theimmortal8265 by a method called Parallax, you first find out the distance to the object/star then wait until the earth is on the other side of the sun (180 grades from the original point) and mesure the distance again the difference in these two mesurments is the size of the object.
This is how i understod that :P

Red stars and Pinkish stars - around 3500 degress
Orange stars and Yellow stars - around 5000 to 7500 degress
Blue stars - around 8000 degress
